ParkLevel Privacy Policy

ParkLevel remembers which level of a multi-storey car park you parked on. It is built to work on your iPhone, with as little leaving it as possible. There are no accounts, no adverts, no tracking and no selling of data.
What stays on your iPhone
Your location, barometer readings, the car parks you map, your parking history, stats and settings are stored only on your iPhone. Location is used to notice when you arrive at a car park you have mapped and to pin car parks you map. Motion & Fitness is used to read the barometer. If you turn on "Show on CarPlay (via Calendar)", ParkLevel adds a short-lived event to a "ParkLevel" calendar on your iPhone and deletes it when you park.
What is sent to our server, and when

Each install of ParkLevel creates a random key, stored in your iPhone's Keychain, so that only you can change or remove car parks you shared. Our server stores only a one-way hash of it. It is not linked to your name, Apple ID or any other identifier.
Office board (optional)
If you turn on "Post to a board" and enter an address, ParkLevel sends your chosen display name, car park name, level and time to that address when you park or leave. If the address is on our server, entries are deleted after 16 hours. If you enter someone else's address, their privacy policy applies to what they receive. Turn it off at any time in Setup.
Third parties
ParkLevel uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. Walking directions open Apple Maps. Our server is operated by us in the UK/EU and is not shared with anyone.
Your choices
- Turn off "Help others find a space" and "Post to a board" in Setup.
- Remove a shared car park with "Stop sharing" or by deleting it.
- Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone.
- Location, Motion and Calendar permissions can be changed in iPhone Settings → ParkLevel.
Children
ParkLevel is a driving aid and is not directed at children.
